Description This immortalized human astrocyte cell line was derived from fetal brain tissue and engineered with human Telomerase Reverse Transcriptase (hTERT) for continuous proliferation. It constitutively expresses the Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9 nuclease, providing a ready-to-use platform for CRISPR-based gene editing to study astrocyte function in health and neurological disease models.

Storage Store immediately in liquid nitrogen upon receipt.

Warnings For your protection, you must wear protective gloves, clothing, and a face mask when handling frozen vials. Bear in mind that some liquid seepage into the vial can occur during storage. Upon thawing, the liquid nitrogen turns into a gas. Due to the nature of nitrogen, this can cause pressure to build up inside the vial, potentially leading to the vial bursting or the cap ejecting. This creates a risk of flying debris.
