  • Neurons communicate with each other through both electrical and chemical signals. Whenever a neuron is stimulated, it produces an electrical impulse that travels along its axon and leads to the release of chemical neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters bind to receptors on other neurons, which enables the signal to be transmitted.
  • One of the most remarkable characteristics of neurons is their ability to undergo neuroplasticity. This refers to the capacity of neurons to modify and adjust their functioning in response to the external environment.
